Damien
(A Play) Jean and Noirin are life long friends, who while rearing their respective children, regularly find time to discuss the ups and downs of parenting and the latest celebrity news and gossip.
Jean is the more outgoing of the pair, and even though she loves children, she would like to be freed from the daily grind of household chores. Noirin appears to have accepted her lot in life, and has few interests away from her immediate family and the daily chats with her trusted confidante.
Living next door to Jean are Damien (Keith) and Orla. They have just moved in to the neighbourhood along with their newly adopted daughter. For Orla, the joy of a being a full time mother is a challenge as she adopts to life away from the world of I.T. She has, however, accepted the fact that her husband and Jean were once childhood sweethearts.
In time what is revealed about this union threatens the solidity of long held friendships. Is Damien the father of Jean's only son? Can Noirin forgive Jean for not telling her that this may indeed be the case? What journey has Damien in mind beyond suburbia?
